Thes One of the critically acclaimed LA hip-hop group, People Under the Stairs, has remixed 70s radio commercials culled from albums Music That Works 1 & 2 (produced by legendary composer Herb Pilhofer) to create his debut solo effort, Lifestyle Marketing. Coupled with a bonus CD containing original Jazz/Funk composition from Music That Works 1 & 2, and an interview between Thes and Mr. Pilhofer, Lifestyle Marketing will appeal to anyone with an interest in American pop culture as well as die-hard fans of Thes One and his music.

Thes One of People Under The Stairs gained a reputation as a prolific producer on records such as The Next Step, O.S.T, and Stepfather. Thes has uncovered many amazing LPs in his days of digging, but few have inspired him more than Pilhofer’s jingles. Acting as producer, arranger, mixing/mastering engineer, and A&R, this release is a true tour de force for Thes One.

Herb Pilhofer

Based in the Minneapolis area, Herb Pilhofer has fronted jazz ensembles, scored movies, won a Grammy, and founded one of the first digital recording studios in the country called Studio 80, where a young Prince made his first demos. Pilhofer pioneered the use of Moogs and other synthesizers in commercial advertising music, and the result was nothing short of revolutionary.
